Our Commitment: Awaza is designed with privacy at its core. All voice processing happens entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your voice recordings or transcriptions to any server.
1. Introduction
Awaza ("we," "our," or "the app") is a Pashto offline dictation application that converts speech to text. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our app.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Awaza is built as a privacy-first application. We do not collect:
- Voice recordings: All audio is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
- Transcribed text: Your dictations stay on your device in a local database.
- Personal information: We do not require account creation or collect any personal data.
- Usage analytics: We do not track how you use the app.
- Location data: We do not access your location.
3. How the App Works
3.1 Voice Processing
When you use the dictation feature:
- Your voice is captured by your device's microphone
- Audio is processed entirely on-device using the Whisper AI model
- The transcription appears in the app
- No audio or text data leaves your device
3.2 Local Storage
Your dictations are saved in a local SQLite database on your device. This data:
- Remains entirely on your device
- Is not backed up to any cloud service by the app
- Is deleted when you uninstall the app
3.3 Keyboard Extension
Awaza includes a Pashto typing keyboard extension:
- The keyboard types Pashto characters directly into any app
- It does not access the microphone, network, or any external service
- Text you type is processed locally by iOS
- We do not collect any typing data
4. Permissions We Request
4.1 Microphone Permission
Why we need it: To capture your voice for transcription.
How we use it: Audio is processed locally using on-device AI. Recordings are not stored or transmitted.
5. Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device:
- Dictations: Stored in a local SQLite database
- Settings: Stored in app preferences on your device
- AI Model: Bundled with the app and stored locally for offline use
6. Third-Party Services
Awaza does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app makes no network connections — the Pashto AI model is bundled with the app and works entirely offline from the first launch.
7. Data Security
Since all data remains on your device:
- Your data is protected by your device's security features
- Use a device passcode/Face ID/Touch ID for additional protection
- The app does not require network access
8. Children's Privacy
Awaza does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children. The app is safe for users of all ages.
9. Your Rights
Since we don't collect your data, there is no personal data to request, modify, or delete from our servers. You have full control over your local data:
- Delete dictations: Use the app's History feature
- Delete all data: Uninstall the app
- Export data: Use the share feature for individual dictations
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
